KAREN L. HERMAN

Specializes in figuring out what stories to tell, how to tell them, and how to curate the supporting materials that bring those stories to life and engage audiences. With 20 years of experience and deep working knowledge of both sides of the design workflow (client and contractor), Karen helps take design ideas from plan to action through opening day.

JULIAN JACKSON

Julian has over 20 years of experience creating and administering compelling, award-winning events, exhibits and experiences for the public in collaboration with partners as diverse as NASA, Saturday Night Live, the National Park Service, and the Field Museum. His work has spanned subjects from outsider art to spacecraft to local architecture and history—always with a focus on connecting people with culture, art, and science.

Former executive director of The Historic Pullman Foundation; former executive director for the Museum of Broadcast Communications; former Vice President of Exhibits and Design for the Milwaukee Public Museum.

 

CAROL SUMMERFIELD

With 30 years of experience, Carol helps shape the strategy and plan to better engage your audiences, inspire your donors, and build solutions that are emotionally compelling to your visitors.

Current executive director of the History Center of Lake Forest Lake Bluff and former director of Museum Revolution, a think tank for innovation in museum and public spaces. Clients include the DuSable Museum, EPFL Switzerland, Northwestern University, Highwood Library, and Museum Campus South.

Mansonfield Studio  began as an informal collaboration on assignments that required a mix of expertise that brought the three leads together. We have worked across a broad spectrum of clients and leadership roles in spaces that have explored music, labor, civil rights, community history, and other topics. Some have been heavy with artifacts; Some hyper-realistic immersive environments; others entirely photo-driven. The projects have ranged from small installations of $100,000 to massive multi-year transformative projects.
